Space 2 is a community arts centre that functions as an integral part of Bracken Edge primary School.
An artwork was needed that would include the designs of all the pupils.
A theme of the four elements was decided upon after discussion with head teacher Gill St. Quintin.
The commission comprised of a vinyl and carpet design for the floor and eight mural panels that were designed and painted by all the children in the school.
There is one panel for each year group and each child has their own individual design on a motif within each panel.
The flooring design was worked on in consultation with staff at the school and BGH, the architects on the project and was subsequently manufactured by Armstrong DLW and Desso.
The build of Space @ Bracken Edge, including the artworks were project managed by One Stop Touring.
