Rashcliffe Park Entrance Feature and Mosaics, Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield
|

A stainless steel entrance feature for the park and some mosaics were made as part of the park refurbishment after a period of consultation with local schools and youth groups. The entrance feature is based on the initials 'RP' and reflects the play and sports facilities that are now within the park.

This fish mosaic is situated in the middle of a seated area within the park. The image is based on a design from a pupil at Mount Pleasant J&I School and came about because the children would have liked to have seen an actual fish pond within the park.

A 'welcome' mosaic complements the sculptural entrance feature. This is also based on a pupils design.
The artworks were commissioned by Kirklees Council and the sculpture was manufactured by S&O Fabrications.
